I’m tonight’s lucky winner My neck wrapped in your fingers You a devil I don’t know Fill me up with innuendo Subterranean secret sinners Shake shake shake out my splinters Toxic touch and my fever’s creepin Cheap shots are hot with treason Got a case of the bad nerves Found Judas up my skirt Can’t wake the sleeping genius One day I may give you reason I ran my finger over your face Just enough escaped to hear you breathing I knew I’d soon be leaving
2.
Mediator come settle my dispute Negotiations show no signs of improvement Two sides collide and collapse on the impasse My labyrinth of resentment My burlesque of duress Grudgingly go along Bottoms up to a job well done Cheers to reliance Chugging beers like the chump beside us And it’s hard to hate the guy when it aint that far to the end of the line But if you try and take me hostage Garnish my plight with elbows and drop kicks Generate the spectacle Gesticulating like I surrender Pockets of resistance are up against security systems experts

Desperate darling come closer I want to buy you a drink Desperate as the spring to be free and easy I say, it happened at a young age The infiltration Approval ratings Dress up on occasion for the aimless crusade Tight lipped and on the top spot They tilt their heads Employ a response Discussions intersect on well-publicized red carpets I say, it happened at a young age The infiltration Approval ratings Dress up on occasion for the aimless crusade Elimination ceremony What? Paying up the expected dues And there’s no reflection mandatory Go boosting about your five star reviews And I see a stunning skyline Unlit cigarettes and harsh lighting The city center’s a pissing contest And everyone looks better when they can tan a little bit

I see the keys giggling from carabiner jeans How they squeeze just a little bit Such a tight fit And you know who you are after dark Rock star in the streets roll up your sleeves Oh and I remember how the rules were tenderly bent So I could slide behind the fence Intent on smiting the smile your were styling While I walked by Clueless I get juiced caressing my boots when I put them on When I put them on Watch me take it off Ya I take it off Oh, rock star in the street roll up your sleeves Oh and I remember how the rules were tenderly bent So I could slide behind the fence Intent on smiting the smile your were styling As I walked by So I break it down I relent my down payment Devotion Tombstone on credit Hooked on free giveaways First aid kits when the kids get gay I say

Rugged terrain It’s a backwoods affair if you dare We bring imminent domain So put your initials here Gotta make sure you aint no queer Sporadic battles So don’t be late when we bring that big brigade So Real Americans Start your engine Subdivisions I can’t resist em I want huge savings Locations world wide I dig my heels in Now watch me climb So The description reads virtually guaranteed It's a time tested technique It’s street legal and eager to please Fuck ya we sell to minors Crash helmets We got live wires Unfit to undermine I got my high profile just in time Narrowly lost I hit the asphalt But I was airborne for a moment Or so they told me But I’m just too heavy So heavy

tow tag 02:46
Government man on the television I see your pathetic plan I hear you talking in abstract terms See that guy on the street told me what you did Now I’m losing steam recouping my expenses See we all make noble sacrifices All eyes on one horizon But under the cover of darkness The ol bait and switch Body bags cling to black top like magnets Through the cracks Up to the attic with sadness Everyone must go But don’t follow too closely They’re mostly your shadows My doppelganger Poor stranger I’ll never know No No Body bags cling to black top like magnets Through the cracks Up to the attic with sadness

full impact 04:51
Get out of bed Constant danger ahead It’s a golden time to grab the last of what we had They’re not gonna bring us in No No Gone before the coffee gets cold I said gone before the coffee gets cold I don’t care to uncover What’s under the rubble I just let the dust settle I said I’m knee deep in trouble Blood parade out for a stroll Calamity Catapulted smoldering boulders closing overhead We dove face first into the earth Certain we would burn to death On full impact My heart of glass cracked in half and shattered in the grass Free at last reads a weary epitaph Good superstition Gave me permission So started wishing on stars as they fall from above And hit with a thud, one by one One by one each star came undone And to the earth it tumbled Who am I to hold back the sky? Beneath my hands I crumble

pie 03:30
I see you licking your lips Narrowing your eyes Baby tie back that bib So I can serve you a slice Oh You want it hot I got it hot You want it ripe I got it ripe So sweet to the tongue Take another bite Eat it gone Take another bite Eat it gone Never get your fill do ya? Always want more, don’t ya? So pull that chair over here Don’t let it get cold, no sir Tasty pie So sweet Tasty pie So sweet Man that pie was great

dark dark 04:17
I stepped outside for a moment Let the door close on its own Alone listening to the crickets Quietly crept out towards the road Dark clouds hide in the night sky In the distance I see light Strike down down the mighty fire Admired by all around Dark dark My heart stops It starts Black black Like sand I collapse Every inch of my skin Still and waiting For the wind Here I stand surrounded by friends Who look me in the eye And forgive Maybe in time We’ll all forget And just give in

I take you down Spin you round on the floor Now we gather dust How we barely touch Hush beautiful boy There’ll be nothing left once we destroy So we hold our breath until the morning We turn the page Fingers tracing the lines I am weightless Listening for the faintest beat So sweetly in time With every breeze I’m melting ice In the rainy streets I reflect the light I am white water rapids as I crash, carving canyons Until every last grain of sand is a luminous little lantern I'm the wind Rattle your window pane Blow in and wake you from your dream Believe what you can’t see Every time you breath It’s me I take you down Spin you round on the floor Now we gather dust How we barely touch Hush beautiful boy There’ll be nothing left once we destroy So we hold our breath until the morning

touch I see 05:06
A free lecture full with ten cent words Tell me where it hurts We each take a turn Before we melt away Beautiful decay As I go falling Caught by your embrace My own slow dance I whirl beneath you I vinyl spinning Like words we knew My own snap shot You flash before me And through the dark In touch I see Oh truth your risky lips Out pours a torrent of anthems left for hearts enchanted We listen to the low end Hypnotized With hands and with skin We smile through our eyes

about

The Haves Have It Minneapolis, Minnesota

The Haves Have It were a local Minneapolis punk band in the mid 2000's. Portia and Jenn met in 2003 doing activist work and quickly became friends. They started the band in 2004, with only guitar and bass, as an outlet to blow off the steam of personal/political drama. Kelly joined in 2005. He had a van, practice space, and played drums. They got rad on the local level between 2004-2008. ... more
